Sponsored Organisations
One of the benefits of working in our field is that we witness outstanding acts of strength and kindness on a daily basis. In a modest effort to offer some sort of contribution, we at Turner Freeman are engaged in a number of sponsorship activities, with the aim of providing support to charities and non-profit organisations working in related areas.
By means of assisting in events, fundraising and ongoing information campaigns, we hope to help these selfless organisations achieve at least some of their goals. Our association with these groups also gives us a worthy point of contact for our clients in need of help or support. We are honoured to be a part of these activities, and encourage our clients, their friends, families and co-workers to get involved too.
Queensland Asbestos Related Disease Support Society (QARDSS)
The Queensland Asbestos Related Disease Support Society is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to assisting the community by providing support to those who have been affected by asbestos related diseases, whether they are sufferers, family members, friends, co-workers or carers. As a self-funded organisation, the Society is run by volunteers, many of whom themselves have asbestos related diseases.
QARDSS’ main focus is on creating awareness and supporting the growing number of sufferers of asbestos related diseases, now and into the future. They offer their members a number of services, including support groups and morning teas, to reduce isolation, empower individuals and restore hope. | The Queensland Asbestos Related Disease Support Society is currently running a fundraising campaign supported by Turner Freeman Lawyers to raise awareness of the dangers of asbestos exposure in our community, and to raise much-needed funds for asbestos disease research. The campaign includes a heroic journey where Ray Colbert (QARDSS member and Secretary) will ride his wheelchair from Toowoomba to Brisbane.
